Inspection at Ffos Las
Ffos Las faces an inspection at 9am before the Welsh Champion Hurdle fixture can be given the go-ahead. Clerk of the course Tim Long had the track covered earlier in the week in a bid to safeguard the prestigious meeting, but frost crept under the covers after a chilly Thursday night.

Kempton planning Kauto tribute
Kempton have announced the creation of the 'Kauto Star Bar' in tribute to the five-time King George VI Chase winner. The new facility will be in the Clubhouse, while discussions are continuing about a statue that would be commissioned following the horse's eventual retirement.

Freeze knocks out Wetherby
Saturday's meeting at Wetherby has been abandoned due to a frozen track and joins Sandown on the casualty list. Ffos Las are inspecting in the morning. A 3pm inspection had been called by Wetherby clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson, but even before that time the decision was taken.
