Carberry steps in after Fallon U-turn
Kieren Fallon has decided against a trip to the Cheltenham Festival and Paul Carberry has stepped in for the ride on Old McDonald in next week's Weatherbys Champion Bumper. The six-times champion Flat jockey agreed to ride Noel Glynn's charge last month, but has now informed the trainer he will be unavailable.

Iris run still baffles Curran
Iris De Balme's disappointing performance at Doncaster on Saturday remains a mystery after tests carried out on the horse came back negative. Trainer Sean Curran had the 2008 Scottish National winner checked over on Monday after he trailed home last of 11 finishers behind Wogan in the Grimthorpe Chase.

Nicholls eyes first Imperial success
Pepe Simo will bid to give Paul Nicholls a first success in the Paddy Power Imperial Cup at Sandown on Saturday. The six-year-old won his first three outings over obstacles in impressive style before stepping out of novice company to finish fifth in the Christmas Hurdle behind Champion Hurdle favourite Go Native.
